Old Fiction

For lack of anyplace else to stick it, I've decided that this was as good of a place as any to put my old fics.

Some of these fics go back ten years or more and are noticably cringe-worthy.   Some of them, I haven't seen in ages.  I laughed when I read a few of the older ones.

It would seem that I have a definite trend towards melodrama and ( Read more... )

I think of my own early stuff (and most of my recent stuff) the same way: cringe-worthy.

Hee hee! Bring it on.

I'm trying. First attempt failed because the story was too long. Trying again. Here's a question for you . . . how do make a separate page? Or can you. I swear that on some people pages, it looks like you go to a different page for things (like fic).

If you want to post the fic here, you can split it up into parts and put links from one post to the next (and/or previous) installment on that page. So there'd be a link from the bottom of chapter one to chapter two, a link from two to three (and, if you'd like, a link at the top of two sending someone who may have missed one back to start at the beginning), like we did with the round robin Yuletide Potions. The coding for embedding a link in like I just did goes like this, only take out the asterisks:

Link to chapter two

The markup codes are the same as at Ashwinder, with the < b > and so forth, only without spaces in there. I also recommend using tags in your journal entries, like you've done in this one.

Bugger. I deliberately screwed up the markup codes, but I don't usually get an error message like that. But you can see the raw text from my link to "Yuletide Potions" and compare it to the functioning link in the first paragraph. So I'm going to leave it as-is.

I'm going to try to get them up tomorrow. But be warned, they really are cringe-worthy, especially the X-Men (comic not movie) based stories. They are the oldest. The rest run across multiple fandom with a few excusions into the slashier side of life.

You're braver than I am! My fanfiction.net account still exists, with fic from eight years ago. I was 13. I am not game to look at it (it isn't this username).
I think your writing is excellent; I'd have to see the other fics to comment, so that might happen soon ;). Just glanced at your profile, trying to remember if you've said where you're from, and I see you've been friended like mad :). There's a bandwagon I'll jump on!
It's nice having the LJ to look at; I left a comment recently on PP asking for confirmation that you're still around. I don't mind waiting, I just get twitchy when I can't tell if the person has abandoned the site completely.

Hee! It always seems to be that way, doesn't it? Certain trips to the past tend to make you cringe by virtue of how they measure up to the subsequent personal growth. :)

Still, I'll be looking forward to reading the old ficcage as you post it here.
