You guys. The following link is batshit insane enough to prompt me to post about it (after eons of not posting) because....dude.

Things to do when you're dead.

HAVE NO WORDS.

Ugh, I think I'm moving on to the Disgusted Stage now. Cripes. eta: disgust combined with morbid fascination behind the mentality of it.

fail, things like this should not exist, fandom, emotionally exhausting, wtf-ery

...

Well, that was a truly fascinating read. I've seen my share of faked deaths, faked illnesses, and the like in fandom over the years but never something quite so...detailed.

I just...can't even comprehend the time commitment that must have taken! O.o

Oooh, I'm a sucker for those types of stories! I've read the MSSCRIBE thing from start to finish despite the fact that I've never even read a single HP book (let along participated in fandom!). LOVE IT! So intriguing!

Also, have you seen Catfish?

Oh yeah, I totally forgot I posted about msscribe! I'll have to go back and read that one too, hah...It IS really interesting! I always think "there's no way people actually do this" but then BAM! someone else has discovered a faker. Haha, I'm pretty sure someone I used to have on my flist had sock puppet accounts.

No, I haven't seen it, but I saw a few comments on it in the above link. Worth watching?

Have you not read the msscribe thing? Or do you mean read it again? Because holy YIKES!!! If you haven't read it then, it's well worth the minimum 8 hours it'll take you to wade through it all! Haha!! I mean, it has a table of contents and everything!

As for Catfish? Yes! Definitely worth watching. To be honest, I actually found it to be one of the saddest (in the true sense of the word) movies that I've ever seen. Obviously, me linking it with this entry of yours is already going to have given away the major spoiler, but it's still worth watching. I went to see it with seven others (total: 3 boys, 5 girls) and we were exactly split along gender-lines with who we felt the most for at the end of the movie, which was very interesting!! If you watch it, make sure you let me know so I can find out which way you fell!

Okay, I'll look for it tonight, then! :)

Makes msscribe look a little tame, cripes.

I dunno, I mean, the msscribe schemozzle takes 14 gazillion pages to unravel and involves IP tracking and all sorts of very cool things! Haha!! There's no (that I recall) fake deaths, but for me, msscribe still takes the cake!

No, no IPs, that's true. But the whole thing spans ~10 years! 10 YEARS.

Msscribe was ~2 years, I think? Now that I'm re-reading, I forgot exactly how much happened, but most of it is just shipwars, so Idk. I hear the Harry Potter fandom is ALWAYS insane.

Did you read the limeybean account too? It's another crazy.

All three read like detective novels lol.
