unrelated: In response to your comment, yeah, I got laid off. I thought I'd gotten okay with it but then after a big blowout in my already rocky relationship, I freaked out for a little while today. Then I got embarrassed about being emo and posting on lj. The pooch is next to me snuggling right now, but he unfortunately will probably always remain with his actual owner and not just his "stepmommy."
