This actually makes so much sense, I'm going to accept it as my canon now. Especially since it means Carter lives. I hadn't realize what running themes fire and thirst were in series 3, and Much having a delusion in the desert makes this make so much sense.

To carry over from Part 1, the lion represents King Richard, who is trying to kill them all in the desert, right? But then they are rescued and the lion gets turned on Guy, the real bad guy, because Much's subconscious can't accept that Richard is truly evil. Now that I'm thinking about it, that whole episode mirrors the end of 2x13 so much, even with Guy taking away Robin's love interest. It's like Much is still trying to process these issues.

Archer is a complete delusion of Much’s. He’s trying to make sense of past events that he does not have all the information for.I think Archer is Much's subconscious creating a replacement for Robin. He's finally realizing that Robin doesn't properly appreciate him, but he's still in love with the super-Robin he's created in his mind ( ... )

Wow. "the lion represents King Richard, who is trying to kill them all in the desert, right?" - How did I not see it??? Of course the lion symbolizes Richard the Lionheart. That is absolutely an association Much would make.

You Win.

That is great! And so perfect. And Guy says what..."a fitting end for such___(diligent? something.) supporters of the "Coeur de Leon" (sp?) I can't believe that I didn't snap to that either. (I got hung up on the lion's Guyliner, I must admit.) And the lion is old and shaky and infirm because Much is secretly ticked off at King Richard? And passive/aggressively makes him...arthritic? Or a weak, shakey king? Bravo!!

This is brilliant. It is well reasoned and makes perfect sense, accounts for all the inconsistencies and is much easier to swallow than what is being pedalled as reality.

You deserve a medal.

Wow. I came into this expecting something funny, and while there were moments, this was perfect. I'd based the fic I'm working on for bigbanghood on the end of S2 and all of S3 being a dream of Robin's, but now I'm almost ashamed at the lack of thought I'd put into it, since this is so incredibly well-detailed. :)

Bravo!!

Just got to reading it all and...

I thought this was going to be on the cracktastic side (which, incidentally, I would have meant as a compliment!)... and instead I find that it's incredibly convincing! I really can believe every one of your points. Wow!

You know, thinking of Much thinking like that really does make me appreciate his characterisation more too. It all makes such good sense. I LOVE that there are both external and internal reasons for the plot points - the water splashing in his face making him think he's crying and things like that, the latent feelings about Robin and friends such as Allan, and even the simple logical processes (I love the point about needing the proper crown).

This is just so lovingly put together and wonderful. I absolutely adore it. I really can't get enough superlatives in here! I love you so much for going to all this trouble, it really is genius! *loves you*

It really is scary when having an entire season be a delusion makes more sense than the show ever did. Then again, it's great, 'cause nobody dies!

*is loved* yays! I had sooo much fun putting this together. I really am sorry that I never did the week by week thing. That would have been a blast. As it is, I'm fairly happy with how it turned out. And, yes, Carter must live. And everyone else too, darn it. Season four should have just been handed over to the fans, along with RA. He would have written something amazing. Imagine if we could have actually been online coming up with these crack theories with him....*imagination wanders* - must stop doing that.

*passes out from the sheer delightfulness of that idea* You know, they should do that! Sort of an experimental series, a new genre, even.

Oh, the stuff RA could have come up with, even without us! They should have at least let him write one ep. That ep would have made sense, too, darn it. And it the characters would have been in character!
