Yes! I'm finally done with my thesis. I made a 130-page study about the telefantasy Encantadia and how Cassiopeia became a indirect representation of the balance. I reconceptualized the series in a way that it shows another culture that was rooted from the pre-Hispanic traditions that the Philippines had and is having. Encantadia is one heavy research but looking at it creatively, you can make one huge study from various perspectives. My thesis is about media and the Philippines. A research-based study on the collaboration of Philippine mass media, world literature and Philippine literature. I had a chance to talk to great people and read a lot of texts that could possibly help me in my study. Of course, without the guidance and belief of my professor, the late Winton Lou Ynion, I may not be able to push through this study. I finished my study with pride. With or without the outstanding thesis, I will always be proud that it is one great study and it is written by determination, creative and critical thinking. I have to prepare for my defense on Friday. And yes, I'll leave this DLSU with pride. I'll be proud that with my degree of Bachelor of Arts in Philippine studies, major in Filipino in Mass Media, I was able to learn and grasp the knowledge that my professors want me to learn. A lot of graduates of this degree may say that it's not a good course, but I say otherwise. PHM, Encantadia, and Sir Winton will always be in my heart...forever.
