Uhm, I was chipping at something with a paper cutter and it somehow whipped out and slashed into the side of my finger and into the nail. And I was paying attention to what I was doing! The good thing about sharp blades is though, the cut is thin and clean and heals well.
Well, I'm not willingly late ~ it's more like, I tried but failed to manage it all on time. I could have, though that would definitely have taken more brains than I have at the moment. *g*
If all else fails, I can always say that it was my French half talking - New Year greeting cards are allowed to arrive as late as the end of January there. *snickers*

Hah! That's what I'd call true savoir-vivre! Not stressing oneself with cards and other holidays-related stuff until one has got the necessary spare time to truly enjoy the whole deal :-)
I only hope you'll get the parcel I sent you in time and all in one piece, though, because it happened to be among the last I sent off and as there's no proper stationary shop in this village I had to improvise with the wrapping.
Yeah, well, that's what happens when you chip merrily away at something hard with a sharp cutter and the hard thing suddenly gives way... And I WAS paying attention. Good thing I'm not scared by blood - in fact, I remember sitting there trying to figure out what would be best for the wound: cutting the nail now or waiting until it grows out. I decided to just desinfect and wrap it, since it's a really thin clean cut. Seems it was the right thing to do... :)
And yes, it actually feels rather good to get something done! It was about bloody time, too!
Considering the fact that I've been making lists for most of December and only starting to actually do something about them now, it actually IS procrastination of the worst kind. Whether that was actually efficient will be measured by the results on Friday evening, when I'm supposed to be all packed and ready for a longer stay away from all my stuff here... :D

You've got no idea how relieved I am to read that I'm not the only person on the planet who is this late with Christmas cards...
