::huggles:: I'm going to be like you. Wait it out in my corner and only leave when I have to. I like LJ too, I know how it works, I don't have to think about it anymore. Can I have a cuppa, too?
There's not much one can do in this situation, really. Unless all my friends move to one place, it would mean leaving some people behind ~ and I don't want that. So, grudgingly, I shall keep one foot in the door...
::Is content to nap in Eve's art supplies box. Storms come, storms go, things blow over, and this little grey rat will stay so long as the people she loves are here.::
You're of course welcome to nap in my pencil box... but why would you prefer pokey pencils to the pillows on my couch? ;)
I stay here for the people mostly. Another blog could be found, and I'm sure I'd be smart enough to figure out the important stuff on it... but unless all my friends move to this one place, I won't leave LJ completely. Yet.
And it's good to hear from you! How have you been? Bin gerade dabei, auf Hochtouren meine Weihnachtskarten fertig zu machen... Ich kann allerdings Deine Adresse nicht wiederfinden. ;)
Yes, the way I used my LJ, having a paid account didn't make much difference either - if you ignore the bonus of 100 userpics. But I have discovered that it is possible to survive with 5 just as well. :P
Wordpress, hm? Will have to look into that, then, since that seems to be the place a lot of people are moving to. I need my brains back first, though....
I'm now posting most of my content on Wordpress and just providing a link over here.
To me, this sounds like a most sensible and pragmatic approach to the dilemma, because this way, you can keep Livejournal's advanced communication channels wide open though the main content is hosted elsewhere.
While I'd never want to lose my f-list and all the wonderful discussions, fun and inspiration that I'm having here, I recently created myself a Wordpress account just to find out how it feels to post a bit more for myself, and not just stuff which is mainly aimed at other people.
(My reasoning behind this: As Wordpress comes without any f-list options, I can post whatever and as much as I want to without running risk of spamming and going on people's nerves ;-))
Maybe I'll switch to your system, keep everything on Wordpress and simply provide links to the more "social" entries here on LJ.
P.S. In case you should wonder why I'm slightly incognito on Wordpress: My name was already taken, and I didn't want to attach any additional letters or

... as if anything my muses did could be called "offensive"! ;D
I know what you mean, but why take an unnecessary risk with TOS and tossers out there? I need to keep one foot in the door to stay in touch with people who would otherwise be scattered all over the place... but I think I will be moving the main focus of my blog somewhere else as well. :|

Yeah another blog could be found, but... this is home. I won't leave unless I am forced.
