There's news about
joyful_molly's upcoming book, "The Purser, the Surgeon, the Captain and his Lieutenant", which I have the honour of illustrating! *^_^*
Read more at her LJ! In case you wonder, yes, this is The Book. The project that we met to work on over Easter. (Some of you might remember...) Striktly business, of course. ;D In case you don't believe me

We had an incredible amount of fun ~ looking back, I'm amazed the men with the white coats didn't come to pick us up at some point. *g*

I cannot imagine the reason why Lt Gillette and Commodore Norrington are so worried. Such a pair of fine gentlemen should not let themselves be frigthened by such a pair of lovely wee-ladies *g*
BTW, I take advantage of this post for asking you some info about a book I saw in a picture included in joyful_molly's post and which she said was yours. Is the book aout the Pandora frigate a useful addition to the library of a Navy-fangirl ?

Oh, I can. *evil grin*
Do take advantage! That book about the HMS Pandora: Is it a useful addition to one's library? Hm... I guess it all depends on the level of geekiness you want to reach.
It's a very technical book, with charts and tables and measurements and lots and lots of technical drawings. Every single piece of wood on that ship is described in detail and in exact 1:128 scale. Everything down to the oars for the lifeboats! It's probably for model-makers and archaeologists. Not so useful for people interested in the working and look of a ship, or Navy fangirls who need to know about the life aboard.
I mostly bought it because for joyful_molly's book I need good reference material for a 6th rate frigate to make correct illustrations. Otherwise I don't think I would have bought it.
I have to see if some of the scans I made for joyful_molly are still up at YouSendIt. That way you could have a look at it without paying the money. ;)

I hope that helps with your questions. :D

Yes, I think you're right and the book is mainly intended as a graphical resource for artists and specialized researchers. Thank you for the impromptu and very useful rec. I will add this title to my list of "interesting books I might buy as a present to myself in some special occasion worthy of a special celebration" :)

It was so great to have you here. :-D Best Easter ever! And your drawing, as I already told you, is fantastic. You really are spot on with all of us.
Max says he looks like Pixie, not like a Lemur. But then he's an old grouch.
