Wow. I really don't know what to say. This is a wonderful characterization of Dean, how the burden is so heavy on his shoulders now, how the job is all he has, Sammy is all he has.

This was wonderful.

Sammy is all he had. There's hunting, but that gives nothing back. Even killing the Demon wouldn't bring back his mother and father. Sammy's it.

Thanks! :)

loved it throughout, and then especially the last few lines... those were aimed straight at the heart. So well and beautifully written, and the characterization is spot on. It's exactly how I'd envision Dean spending a night alone dealing. Awesome work.

*hugs Dean*

oh, thanks! :) i like dean alone. that's when he's the most vulnerable, i think. that and when sammy's in trouble/hurt/possibly dying.
