I discovered on YouTube today that the British term for the American word 'clothespin' is 'clothes peg.' Since I haven't used one in many decades, I'm not sure it matters. Is hanging clothes to dry a dying art in the US?

Depends. I have 2 clothes racks I pull out as needed to drape clothes on. Clothes pins come out when i build  forts for small visting children with the same racks.

I remember really needing a two-piece clothespin at the family home place for some simple clamping job ages ago, but couldn't find one. Somebody else in the family had taken all of the many my mother once had, and I hadn't really noticed. I hope they got more use out of them than I would have.
