So I hate the new WC. I can't get cactus as a user name because somehow I missed the memo about synching my email accounts, and it just makes me sad and frustrated that now I can't really keep up with any of the people with whom I have chatted over the past year. I guess I will still post over there in other people's journals, but I think I am ( Read more... )

aww, alex, i hear ya. i think people will warm up to the "new wc."

also, an alternative message board in the form of the old wc has been set up by a wcer and her husband. it is basically an exact replica (same threads, journals) of the wc, but in a format everyone seems to like.

it seems that a lot of people are heading there. you can check it out at www.clevercouples.com

I joined over at clevercouples last night but I had had a few Long Island Iced Teas so I'm going to have to go over there again and refamiliarize myself...

Why don't you come over to clevercouples.come?? It's a site created by a WC refugee and her hubby...it's almost exactly like the old WC....and LOTS of people are over there already....I think it's up to 200 members as of this morning.

I'm going to do that as well, I think. Hopefully it all works out. But over the last few months I've sort of started to like the LJ format too, so I think that if enough of the friends I made on WC come over here I'll feel like this is a community too.

Who knows?

And who knew that WC had become enough a part of my daily life that I would actually be pondering these kinds of decisions?

Hey Alex! I'm with you - I'm making a permanent move. Makes me sad - I was on WC from way back when (I think I joined in 2001!). I'll keep up with you here though! Friend me!

Ugghhh...we were supposed to sync our email accounts?? Damn...that's why I can't figure anything out. Everything must be going to my old email account. :( It doesn't make any sense though, because I was getting all of my notifications prior to this switch. I don't think it is user-friendly at all anyways. I may just leave for good. I have also joined clevercouples.com, but haven't had too much time to look around it yet...it looks MUCH better than the new WC though.

I definitely don't mind if your journal becomes a wedding journal! You can post whatever you feel like. :)

Yeah, I don't even know what the exact problem was, but it had something to do with the fact that I had to use the email address with which I originally signed up for the wc.com (which was pre pre engagement lurker days)--which matched up with a username I had never even posted under, so that's what it's giving me now and not letting me get cactus back. Poo.

I think I'm just going to stay here anyway, which is fine. I'll try to get over there and keep up with my friends and things (if I can figure out how "watched threads" work, but maybe this is some kind of secret message that I was spending too much time on WC to begin with.

I hate wc too. It's so sad because it was such a cool place, sure some stuff was annoying but they didn't have to make such a lame and drastic change. I feel like I lost all my buds. I don't even want to look at my journal there because it's just sad looking now. Come to clevercouples! I'm ssstephanie there. p.s. I just friended you if that's cool.
