I was wondering something:

Prairie was preparing supper while I took care of the baby when she cut her finger while slicing a vegetable. "Well," she said "I guess this isn't a vegetarian meal anymore!"

That got me thinking... I know there are different "levels" to being veg and vegan, but how far does one go? Are there vegans out there who would throw out the knife and cutting board, thinking them contaminated and not "kosher" any more?
