There's a communication theory similar to that which states that there are different sides of our personalities that we show to different people. The "me" that I show my family is not the same "me" I show to my friends, and the "me" I show to my coworkers is not the same "me" as I show to my family, and so on and so forth.
I think the way it's similar to point 3 is that different sets of people see different sides of you, so for you to say, "That's not me," it might be what you're showing to certain people, you just don't know it.
Or something like that. It's a late hour to be rehashing comm theories. xP
