I always thought it was a reference to Keanu Reeves. Specifically the Excellent Adventure line, but also the fact that there have been rumours about Keanu for along time. Keanu had done Speed, The Matrix movies and several other sci-fi movies such as Johnny Mnumonic, which most here have never heard of.
