Sherlock crossover - Martin works for Sherlock during The Great Hiatus

I'm cross-posting this from sherlockbbc_fic.
Martin finally becomes an excellent, self-sufficent pilot when he gets lots of experience as Sherlock's private charter pilot while Sherlock flies all over the world pursuing Moriarty's henchman during the Hiatus. (And if you want to make them long-lost brothers or cousins go right ahead. Kind of seems like Martin being a trustworthy relative might be the only way he could get the job in the first place!)
Would love some of these highlights:
Martin gleefully teaching an amused Sherlock some basic flying skills.
Martin talking Sherlock through some of his dark moods when Sherlock is stressed out and missing John.
Martin getting a BAMF moment and saving Sherlock from a baddie.

Brilliant work. I'm really loving the backstory you've got going for Martin and Sherlock. It's all very believable! And wow, that is a niiiiiice plane.

Except for handful of occasion, Martin usually spends Christmas with his mum and dad, but this year, Sherlock had specifically requested Martin's presence at the Holmes Christmas dinner

Right, this thing has gone a bit nuts and I don't think I can continue to post it as a comment fic WIP. It's now sitting at close to 9000 words and nowhere near done. I'm still boggling at the word count as it's only been 2 days since I started it and I have never written anything this long this quick!
Anyway, I'll de-anon and post a link once this thing is done. Hopefully soon. Thanks for the comments so far! :D

OP here!
Oh my God I just came back to check this prompt and I was so happy to see this fill!
It's fan-freaking-tastic! I love the way you are switching back and forth between the past and present. It's making the story so interesting to read. And I love the relationship you have set up between Sherlock and Martin and their families.

Glad you like!! OMG, this thing is now close to 11,000 words. Right now I'm just getting everything down and will edit it later, but it's likely that it will take some time since this is turning out to be rather epic. Check back in a month or so, I *might* have something by then. Or at least post a status update.

Right, this baby is finished. It's being renamed: "These Skies Are Breaking" which is a line taken from the song "One of a Kind" by Placebo.
It's with the beta now, but it might take a few weeks to get it back and get the edit done since final product is just over 17,000 words and both the beta and I have assignments due and exams around the corner.
I will post the link to it when I get it posted. Most likely will be on my LJ.
Just wanted to let OP know it's finished and will soon (hopefully) be posted! ;)
