Title: Super Cash To The Rescue!
Rating: G
Pairing: Gen (with slight Cash/Marshall, Singer/Brendon & Johnson/Spencer)
Recipient: Randa / justranda

Summary: The Cabbies (minus Ian) meet in kindergarten and Cash quickly earns the role of Marshall's hero.

"Alex, get ready for bed. You have school tomorrow," Mrs. Marshall shouted from the kitchen.

Alex Marshall put down his video game controller. "Okay, Mommy!" he shouted back, getting up and walking towards his room. He sat down on his bed, tomorrow was his first day of kindergarten. Marshall was nervous, he was a shy kid, and even though his mom said he'd make lots of friends, he didn't believe her. He fell asleep that night feeling anxious.

The car stopped outside of the school. Marshall grabbed his lunchbox and walked to the doors. The bell rang and his teacher ushered him inside the classroom.

"Good morning class," Ms. Bryant greeted them. "Welcome to your first day of kindergarten." She smiled warmly at her class.

The kids situated themselves in their seats, most sitting with friends they already knew. Marshall found a seat in the back next to a curly haired kid who was humming Aladdin under his breath.

"First, I'd like everyone to introduce themselves." Ms. Bryant pointed to a gangly boy in the front row. "Why don't you start?" she asked.

The boy stood up and turned around, facing everyone else. "I'm Alex Johnson. But just call me Johnson," he said, then sat back down.

Ms. Bryant then pointed to the curly haired kid next to Marshall. "How about you next?"

The boy stopped humming and stood up. "I'm Alex DeLeon and I want to be Aladdin," he said, then quickly went onto singing, "I could show you the world, shining, shimmering, splendid. Tell me princess, now when did-"

"Okay, okay," Ms. Bryant cut in. A boy in the front row laughed a little but immediately stopped when Alex glared at him. Marshall didn't know why though, Alex wasn't very intimidating.

Ms. Bryant then pointed to Marshall, who stood up. "Uhm, I-I'm Alex Marshall. B-but I can go by Marshall," he quickly sat down.

"Oh man, three Alexes," the same boy in the front row said.

Ms. Bryant looked at him, "Why don't you go next?" she asked.

The boy stood up, putting his hands on his hips. "I'm Cash Colligan," he proudly stated. Johnson laughed and pulled on the collar of Cash's t-shirt, making him fall backwards into his chair. Cash swatted at Johnson's shoulder.

"Now, none of that," Ms. Bryant interrupted. Alex giggled and covered his mouth with his hands.

The bell rang for lunch and Cash went up to Marshall. "Hi," he said.

Marshall looked up, "Uh, hello."

Cash smiled, "Do you wanna sit with me at lunch?"

"That would be awesome," Marshall beamed, grabbing his lunchbox and following Cash out of the classroom.

Cash led the way to a shaded table on the playground. "This is Spencer, Ryan, and Brendon, they're first graders. And you already know Alex and Johnson," Cash said, gesturing towards three boys sitting across the table.

"Hi!" Brendon said, waving enthusiastically. "What's your name?"

Marshall took a seat next to Cash. "I'm Marshall," he smiled at Brendon. Sitting beside Brendon was Alex, who happened to be singing the Aladdin soundtrack again. Brendon, in turn, started singing the Little Mermaid soundtrack. Johnson and Spencer laughed at this and started drumming along to "Under The Sea" on the table.

Brendon stopped singing and turned to Alex. "You know what?" he asked.

Alex looked up at him, a smile adorning his face. "What?"

"I'm gonna start calling you Singer," Brendon said, pressing his pointer finger to Alex's nose. Cash sighed under his breath and muttered something about 'please don't encourage him.' Ryan, who had been exceptionally quiet until then, laughed at this.

Johnson opened his lunchbox, a frown immediately followed. "Who wants to trade me?" he asked.

Marshall leaned over Cash, "What do you have?" Johnson emptied his lunchbox onto the table, spreading the contents out for Marshall to see. Marshall tapped his finger against his chin. "Hmm, I'll give you my turkey sandwich for your peanut butter and jelly." Johnson agreed and handed it over, happily grabbing Marshall's sandwich.

"How about you Alex, I mean, Singer," Johnson mocked. "Do you got any gummy bears?"

"That depends," Singer grinned. "Can I have those chips?" Johnson threw them at Singer, who ducked, leaving Ryan to gracefully catch them.

Singer lunged for them but Ryan held them far above his head. "I'll give you my pudding if you lemme keep 'em," he bargained. Singer grabbed Ryan's pudding and curled in closer to Brendon. Johnson opened Singer's pack of gummy bears in the middle of the table, grabbing all the red ones and leaving the rest for whoever wanted them.

Cash picked up the milk his mom had given him. "Does anyone have Gatorade?" he questioned. Spencer grabbed the milk and handed over Brendon's Gatorade.

"Hey!" Brendon shouted from across the table. Spencer threw a can of soda at Brendon who caught and opened it in one swift motion. It exploded everywhere. Cash grabbed his jacket and shielded himself and Marshall. Ryan all but tackled Brendon to the ground complaining about how he got his hair wet. Johnson burst out laughing.

"My hero," Marshall beamed and Cash blushed, lowering his jacket. The bell rang for them to go inside and they all quickly picked up their trash and ran for the doors.

The next day Marshall walked into class with a little more confidence. "Hey Marsh, over here!" Cash and Singer called in unison. Marshall walked to the table in the back, taking a seat between Cash and Johnson.

"Good morning, class!" Ms. Bryant said from the doorway. Everyone immediately quieted down and took their seats. "Today," Ms. Bryant started, "we're going to color."

Johnson jumped up and grabbed a stack of coloring books from the corner of the classroom. "Hey Marshall, get the crayons," he called over his shoulder. Marshall walked to the front of the room and picked up a bucket full of crayons, bringing them back to the table.

"What's your favorite color?" Cash asked Marshall when he sat the bucket down.

"Blue," Marshall replied while grabbing a couple blue crayons.

"Really? Mine's green," Cash stated.

"Why's that?" Marshall asked, looking up at Cash. "Is it 'cause your name's Cash and cash is green?" Cash nodded his head, smiling. "I knew it," Marshall laughed.

Johnson came up and grabbed Marshall's crayon, starting to color a submarine. "Hey! I was using that," Marshall said.
"So? I need to use it," Johnson countered.

Cash looked at Johnson. "That's rude." Johnson just kept coloring. "Give it back, Johnson!" Cash pushed.

Ms. Bryant came over, "What's going on over here?" she asked.

Singer started giggling and Cash shot him a glare. "Johnson took Marshall's crayon and won't give it back," Cash pouted.

Ms. Bryant put her hands on her hips. "Johnson, time out."

"Fine!" Johnson said, getting up and walking over to the corner. Marshall grabbed his crayon from where Johnson dropped it and smiled up at Cash.

"Thank you!" he said. Cash sat back down. Marshall leaned over and hugged him. "Like I said yesterday, my hero!" And just like the day before, Cash blushed.

"Honey, how was your second day of school?" Marshall's mom asked when he got in the car.

"It was great!"

Marshall smiled and put on his seat belt.
