They are the good guys: honest, faithful, too good to play the game of thrones because of their honesty. In a sense (ahem) they are the Gryffindors of the case. Have you been watching the show?
No, it's not on in Belgium and I'm scared of torrent-y stuff. I just saw this quiz-thing circulate and I know you are all Hear Me Roar House, so I was curious to see where I'd end up :P.
Hm. Too honest? Sounds like me. Does not sound like a bunch of Gryffindors to me, though ;-).
I specified "in a sense". The moral spectrum of GRR Martin is far wider that our dear JKR's, and the readers can perceive how the Starks are actually criticised for their dullness (which is not good, and provokes political disasters). They are like Gryffindors, though, in the sense that they are considered by the majority of readers as the "good" side to stand with, whereas the Lannisters occupy the Slytherin (ambitious, cunning, know how to play the game of throne) side.
Of course this is precarious, because the characters' "morality" changes many times through the story, and when you reach the fourth books the Lannisters are hardly that cunning anymore, and the Starks are a bunch of losers who destroyed themselves with their own hands (most of). Anyway, many readers expect a Stark to be the final "winner" of the fight for the crown. There will be a carnage before it, though.
