Does anyone have a World of Warcraft guest pass that they'd be willing to give me? I am really just not getting into Second Life. I want to kill something.
I think I have a WoW sample disk here somewhere; I could mail it to you if you want. Personally, I've been playing some Guild Wars, which is good for killing and without those pesky monthly fees (all you have to do is buy the software).
I've never tried Second Life. I'm curious as to why it's not working for you (other than the vicariousness of killing computer animations).
Is there a code on it that I could use if I already had the software? The prof lent it to me. I'd really appreciate it, anyway.
The problem with SL, I think, is that without ANY tasks or goals set by the game software, it's actually very hard to start social relationships. It's ironic, because the whole POINT of the environment is socialization, but what happens is that you end up having no reason to talk to anyone about anything, and it's really awkward. And if you have a few friends, but you sign on and they're not there, there's nothing to do the way there would be in a game with mobs.
There is a code, but I don't know if it's linked to the sample disk or not. I can send it and you can try it. (I don't need any more addictions.) Does rosepurr have your mailing address?
SL does sound weird and definitely not something for me.
Heh. Didn't know you guys were pondering SL. I used to be a part of SL for a while, but slowly faded back out -- it got jammed with people who were into clubbing online. *sigh* I'm one of those people who like to try building things that look awesome, so.
