wiki Personality:
In the very first episode one can safely assume that Pao-Lin is a power house for a super hero. Not only successfully stopping one criminal, she was able to successfully knock out and capture two with her power over electricity. Prior to episode 14 (which, apparently starts up a new season for the heroes), she's pretty far in the point system and was ranked fourth. After the new season begins she is still able to hold her own, but, unfortunately she is knocked down by one rank. She does her best to please her sponsors and even went as far to ask if they were displeased with her for not standing out enough when she and her manager were reviewing clips from her last fight in episode 9.
Unfortunately for Pao-Lin, her biggest problem with being a hero is not being able to stand out with her femininity. She wears a tracksuit, and she even uses the pronoun boku, which is an informal term most males use when they're talking about themselves. Because of this-- certain insecurity she finds it hard to believe that she can take care of the Mayor's baby in episode 9 even after being called "Mamma." She doesn't feel like she has the certain... feminine charm most mothers do even though she's got what it takes deep down inside. She got along fine with the baby, and even knew what to do when he needed a diaper change. In fact, the baby preferred her over Kotetsu, who is a father! In some of the later episodes she has a hard time considering herself as a girl. Karina (Blue Rose) mentions something about there only being two girls and Pao-Lin apologizes thinking that it's her fault for being a tomboy. And, despite thinking that she isn't really girly, she gives Keith (Sky High) advice on what he should say when confronting this... mystery girl he has a crush on. She also proceeds to gush about said girl with Karina and Nathan (Fire Emblem) once Keith leaves the gym.
Pao-Lin was born in China. It isn't really mentioned how or when she discovered her NEXT (which is basically her super power) abilities, but when she did she was quickly sent off to Sternbild so she could have a better life there with the other heroes that lived there. Before she left, her parents gave her an aster hair-clip. Not really understanding the meaning behind it she came to resent the hair-clip and (somewhat) her parents for the gift. As she spent time with Kotetsu she was able to understand where her parents were coming from, and came to understand the meaning behind the flower as well. In flower language, Aster flowers represent "thinking of you." Ever since then she has worn the clip with pride and adoration.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
✔ skilled fighter
✔ reliable
✔ despite her high-rank she puts safety over points
✔ good with children! (even though she didn't think she would be since she's not really girly)
✖ still somewhat insecure about showing her feminine side
✖ had a hard time understanding her parents feelings about her going off to Sternbild
✖ gets ahead of herself and sometimes steals the other heroes' criminals (and points by proxy)

So I just... give this thing for you to hold? [She looks from the odd sun-shaped stone to her Gloom. The Gloom in turn gloo's as he nods his head.]
Well... Alright then... but if it starts hurting you, I'm taking it away. Alright?
[And with that she gives him the stone and stands back. A few minutes after holding the stone and nothing happening Pao-Lin walks closer and is just about ready to take the stone away from her Gloom, but comes to a stop when he starts glowing.]
Oh! This happened before-- when you-- oh so it worked! [she sighs. However once the glowing stops she stares at it.]
Well-- I guess you're no longer a turnip anymore Wu Jing... But I don't know what else I'd call you, so-- I hope you're still alright with the name. Is it even alright to change your name? [she shakes her head.] Well, anyways! We've gotta start our daily routine!

Pao-Lin had been in Johto for about... give or take-- four months? She thought she would be able to find a way out of this place by now, but so far, everything she did came up dry. So she decided to put China's advice into motion.
She shook her head lightly as she referred to the man that was her homeland. It was still a little weird to think of him like that, but, he was rather kind. And reminded her so much of home-- so she didn't bother her completely. Anyways-- he told her a rumor he heard that was circulating all around Johto about this... badge challenge of sorts. Whoever collected them all, fair and square, would get to go back home. And, after many months of vigorous training she had finally defeated Clair of Blackthorn City.
A feeling of happiness washed over her as she saw Clair's beautiful Dragonair fall to the ground in defeat. She had finally did it! She punched her fist through the air as she jumped with joy. Now that she had the last badge, she could go back to Sternbild! She could go back home and continue being a hero--!
Well... she was kind of considered a hero here now... And-- Mr. Tiger and Ivan were here too. But she'd still get to see them back home, right? But-- what would happen to her team? She worked so hard to make them stronger-- and what would happen to all of the people she met here? Would she still remember them when she went back?
"You've got some spunk in you kid. And that's saying something. I hardly ever lose as easily as I did to you." Clair said as she reached forward to give Pao-Lin her her Rising Badge. "You should test your might against the Elite Four."
Pao-Lin gaped slightly as she looked up at Clair. "Thank you" she said as she bowed slightly. "But-- what do you mean about the Elite Four? I thought this was the last thing you had to do here..." And soon after saying that Pao-Lin sort of regretted it with the way Clair stared at her.
"This might be the end for here, but this certainly isn't the end of your adventure. Now go." Clair said as she made sweeping motions with her hands.
