it's a real dilemma-- should i get more fish this fall? only to have them die again next heat wave next summer? if i get a new air conditioner, would i really have left it on the ENTIRE weekend i was gone? should i just forget abt having fish b/c i'm a poor old lady with lots of student loans who cannot afford central air? should i make someone come over and put ice cubes in the tank? >cough!< ahem... i dunno....
There are chillers you can get for your tank, but I believe they are ludicrously expensive. Dunno how your AC works, but mine has an "energy saver" setting - when I'm going to be away, I set it about 85 degrees with the energy saver on, and it at least keeps it tolerable inside so the cats don't melt.
