Um...I personally don't see how that's wrong, I mean it wasn't Merlin's place to tell that story and Arthur isn't accusing Merlin of having withheld the story but of having hidden his magic from him. And if you are referring to the fact that Gaius told Merlin not to tell Arthur about his magic when he discovered it, that's exactly what happens in the series. It's an advice Gaius gives Merlin not an order; it's not justification for Merlin not telling Arthur and therefore not something Gaius ought to point out if Arthur felt betrayed by Merlin, in my opinion. I am sorry you find it wrong or confusing.

Gaius offering comfort and a truth long withheld from Arthur was beautifully written. How can Arthur uphold the ban on magic when he was born of it?
