Oh, so bittersweet! I bet you mix your BC powder with Coca-cola, don't you? First draft, my ass! :laughs: You are soooo a writer. It just eases off your fingertips. I'm just gonna start nagging you to find a little more time for fiction. Since you're actually consolidating and bringing everything together into one very fine place in life, maybe it'll be easier to do that. I love this-I love Angel's texture, his ripe senses- the lightning unzipping the air and setting off car alarms- the dialogue is awesome. :missesDoyle: Thanks for leaping in with us- let's do a S1 fic orgy... :makesplans:
:mwah!: You've commented on my story so now it's complete. :)
Angel's so easy to slip into, isn't he? It's much easier to write someone with senses that extend beyond the norm. Makes the writing more dramatic and fun. ;) I missed Doyle a lot, writing this. That said, I wish they'd given us an episode that was just Angel and Cordy, before Wes came along. LOL Maybe that's what we should write!
I can't believe you wrote something for us! And what a great *something* it is. You definitely kept it "true* to the period and the characters.
Angel put his fingertips to his temples and rubbed them in circles. He could smell the metallic shimmer of cola, the fake sweetness of suntan oil, the too-floral odor of Cordelia's perfume. Layers of tooth-aching sweetness that belied the cactus-sharp exterior of the girl.Ouch. She would be especially annoying after his brush with the human life and the glory of the Buffy sex. :) But this is a great description of S1-era Cordy through Angel's eyes. Cactus sharp and faux sweet on the surface. Lucky for him, he got to experience the deeper side of Cordy as their relationship progressed
( ... )
Girl, you leave the best f/b! Thank you! Yeah, poor Angel. I felt sorry for him, too. He was so sad then. But there was Cordy, pulling him out of his funk, without either of them realizing just how deeply they'd bonded. What a fun time during the show! Probably my favorite time to write.
> There is a penalty, though, for not going through channels. You'll see what I mean when I post my fic. ;)
Great work. I loved the Season 1-era dialogue. Doyle was great, and you captured Cordy really well, caught in the transition from Queen C to Season 2/3 Cordy.
Squeeeee! Kel-fic! I loved this so much. The storm, the demon, and Angel coming to terms with his day of humanity, and how mortality isn't all that it's cracked up to be. Your Doyle-voice, especially, was fantastic. *sniffle*
You give such absolutely unequelled C/A friendship/UST - like no other, my beloved Starlet.
It wasn't until later that night, as he prepared to wake Cordelia again from her light sleep, that he remembered the Orobas's parting shot: It's time to let go of the past and wake up to your present, for that is where your future lies.
This is why I love you. And the image of an unconscious Angel holding onto the most annoying, brattiest, beautiful, courageous woman he'll ever love.

I love how much you get them.
