That was terrific, sweetie. I love your prose. You have such a way with words.
She turned, but kept her eyes on his chest. Just moments ago, she'd been lying there. She taken him in her hands. She could still feel him inside her. “Was it just a fantasy?”
He raised his hand very slowly, being careful with her. He touched her jaw, and sliding his finger under her chin, tilted her face up. His eyes were dark. And hungry. “Yes. Different ones, I suspect.”
I always thought it was strange that Fred and Lorne could convince Angel so quickly that he and Cordy were meant for each other. This is why. LOL
A lovely fic and as always, a pleasure to read.
One thing I noticed.
She peeped at Angel when he grunted and caught the corner of his lip twitching.
Peered I think you mean. Cordy is not a song bird. *peep*
Hugs you.

First, I love this time period. I wish we had gotten so much more from the both of them regarding Doyle's death and what it meant to them. I would have loved more than a few hours of them alone, dealing, bonding, etc. before Wesley showed up. But, if we can get it in fic like this, then I am appeased. :D
Cordelia set her file down and closed her magazine. She didn't have to ask why. Wesley Wyndham-Pryce had adopted them, and while she was happy to have her eyes, thanks to him, the energy he bounced off the walls of Angel's small space wasn't something she or Angel was used to. Yet. “He's kinda like an overenthusiastic puppy we didn't want. We'll get used to him.”That is the perfect description of Wesley and how he didn't quite fit in with them at that time. And how much do I love Cordelia and her magical way of knowing and expressing what Angel's thinking and making it better. *sigh ( ... )

I love this time period and, like Skippy, I wish we'd gotten more of it on the show. But you reached right in there and found this perfect little poem of a story, which fills in the blanks and leave me feeling satisfied (and, um, hot).
Those two were so lonely after Doyle died. It left them vulnerable and open in ways I don't think they were later, even after Connor was taken. They were both kids here, on some level, who'd just lost the third leg of their triangle. Silly Angel for reading that spell -- but I have to wonder if he sort of wanted to curl up in Cordy and lose himself from the pain for awhile.
Love the comment about the puppy and the "abaracadabra," which were just delicious Cordy-sass moments. That girl got to the heart of things, didn't she?
