Okay, so I have to admit I did have a little problem with Hugh in the last few weeks. I honestly didn't know if I still liked him. The weird thing with his new album being a solo album all of a sudden, the fact that his new album was pretty much songs of his old albums plus a few new songs, his lonely lonely video to friends of mine... well. But

I am so glad I have it back, I have to tell you. There was Hugh squee all over my flist, and I was just like, uhm, yeah. No. But not anymore. Hug and I are GOOD again. :D

Me too! I mean, feel bad for the band. It was so uncomfortable to watch (and yet weirdly fascinating) and I felt really sorry for them.
And let me tell you, you can't imagine who glad *I* am that my Hugh love's back. I missed it. And thank you for the link to Q TV too, it's awesome. I never heard of it before.

It WAS weirdly fascinating to watch...it was just...sort of surreal. It was all over the news right after it happened. Jian handled the situation very well though. Like I mentioned, BBT made some pretty ugly comments about Canada after that...in fact, I seem to remember him doing so at one of his shows in Canada (can you imagine?!)...and he never apologized for any of it. That's what makes me think gigantic asshole.

Q is actually a CBC Radio show, but they have the studio set up so they can video because they have some really awesome guests. The show also holds a very strong spotlight on Canadian talent in many forms. I'm sure you've heard of the other show that Hugh mentioned in this interview, The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos - also an awesome show, on CBC TV.

P.S. I keep promising to very soon get to posting a bunch of other Hugh stuff that I have, which may further strengthen your love for Hugh... ;)

I think Jian was awesome. He did great. And I had to look up some articles about that after I watched it, so, yeah, I know. They got booed at their next concert, people yelling 'Here comes the gravy'. *feels sorry for the band again* And then they canceled the tour. Yeah. (In the interview Joaquin Phoenix was mentioned a lot, and so I watched that interview too, you can't even compare it. Apparently, unlike BBT, JP isn't an asshole.)
I do know George S., he did some wonderful interviews with Paul Gross and Hugh, I check out his YouTube channel from time to time.

Aww, he was so low-key! It must be weird after all this time and all these years of interviews to suddenly be aware of a wider audience and representing a mainstream show and trying to be all respectable and shit. I mean, he didn't even let himself say "shit"! o.O

And I don't know, about things being weird for him. At least for me, all I saw were print interviews, and you just get a part of a personality in print interviews, you know? (And even when I just listened to that particular interview, it felt different, you know?) So, yeah. I think it's all good now.
