Callum Keith Rennie: Cast on 24

Another Battlestar Galactica [actor] is set to come aboard 24.

Are we to expect laaaame jokes about Dracula or some such crap?

Possibly. Possibly while he gets tortured by Jack Bauer. *points down to a surya74 comment* (It's apparently tradition.)

why the hell
Yeah. Publicity, I guess? Actors' are only worth what people are willing to pay for them? So I guess 24 is pretty much as awesome as it can get? Which, GOOD for him. Still. Yeah. (THEN again, I really don't want him to take a role in FP, like, as a guest character. While Hugh is the star and all. That's just not right. You know what I mean?)

And yeah, most people seem pleased with that. So, uhm, that's... good? I guess?

seeing him in that show if he had been one of the good guys, you know?
As far as I remember I only watched one episode of it. It was boring AND annoying. As far as I remember. Which I don't do very well, in that case. But if Scriggle is to be believed (which she is, usually) it's just... there ARE no good guys in that show BUT Jack Bauer?

If he's going to work in more mainstream projects, however
Welll. Like you said, he can pretty much elevate a show to a completely other level if he gets the opportunity. So let's wait this one out, I think. Actually good shows might follow, after all.

Oh, I have definitely nothing against these two together in, well, anything. They are awesome together, even more than they are just for themselves. What I don't like is Callum playing a one-night stand in this, you know? He's done a LOT more acting than Hugh and as much as I love Hugh, I think Callum's a much better actor. Like, Hugh is a surprisingly awesome actor? Callum though is on a completely other level. So, well ( ... )

not sure his presence is enough
Yeah. I know what you mean. I will watch it anyway, but then, I have no shame. *shrugs* I think I watched one 24 ep before. And I was bored and annoyed at the same time by it. NOT GOOD 24.

And yeah, don't worry. Even if YouTube should fail, I (or Scriggle or Meresy I guess) will provide everything you want. Dying pretty Callum, without any political implications. Or boredom. ♥

I read a short interview with Jürgen Prochnow a few days ago where he said the season will be about some evol Russians who plan an assault during a conference between the US and an fictional arabic country. Déja vu, anyone? If you've seen one season of 24, you have seen them all. /o\

Oh, and *licks pic*

Thanks for posting! :)

I guess it is good that I haven't seen any 24 seasons then and didn't find time to watch one?

Totally. And you shouldn't try to catch up. It's utter nonsense. I had to sit through all seasons because the hubs is a fan. And what is really bad: Jackhole Bauer is an expert at ugly torture. Hands off Vladimir! *shakes fist*

P.S. Hello! *waves*

I might not mind a bit of torture as long as he lets him live. But I guess there won't be a chance that would happen, right?

You guys all make me scared now of actually watching the show. ;)

P.S. Hi!

the character is expected to debut in the sixth or seventh episode of season 8

At least now we know we don't have to watch eps 1 thru 5. Of course, they'll probably fuck with us and throw in a random CKR scene in the middle of ep 2 or 3.

Another articlewith a quote from Katee.

For Sackhoff, shooting 24 was eerily reminiscent of her time on Battlestar. "It's a little weird," she said. "Because Brad Turner directed one of the episodes of Battlestar Galactica, ... and he was [one of] the first directors that I had for 24. So I literally, like, came in, and it was a seamless transition. ... [Former Battlestar co-star] Callum Keith Rennie was there, and I was there, and Brad was there, and it was like, 'Wow, this is great!'"

I didn't know Freddie Prinze Jr was part of this season, too. *has flashbacks to Shooting Gallery* :|

All the more reason to narrow down which eps are the CKR eps. *g*

Callum Keith Rennie, consummate creepy bad guy. Yes, consumate means it might be a good time to change. Right?

Also I had a look at some casting calls - Dimitri, Vladimir, from Jake Bauer's point of view, it's all the same I guess. As long as TV watchers get he's Russian...

July 8, 2009 SpoilerTV - Exclusive - 24 - Episode 8.05 and 8.06 - Casting Call

[DIMITRI] Eastern European, in his mid 30s to mid 40s, he is an enforcer for our “European Godfather.” Dimitri is introduced in Episode 5 and will return in Episode 8 where he has an intense encounter with Jack Bauer. Cannot be any taller than 5’11” and should have a slight Eastern European accent sptv050769...GUEST STAR.

If they'd kept Dimitri, they'd call him 'Dim'? Okay, (Count) Vlad is funnier.

Anyway, more Callum! \o/

where he has an intense encounter with Jack Bauer

There is gonna be torture, mark my words. Maybe he only signed up because of this?

You know. For some reason, that's not all bad to me. Uhm.

And hah! Yes, he probably did.

You know. For some reason, that's not all bad to me. Uhm.

A tiny little part of my brain says YES to this.

My prediction on what will happen this season on 24 regarding Callum's character: He blackmails Katee's character into helping him doing evol stuff, since the two were involved some time ago (flashback to some hot scenes that might or might not involve paint). Since each season has a mole in Jack Bauer's good guy unit CTU I guess this season it's Katee. After some present time smooching and helping Vladimir Katee confides her dark secret to Jack Bauer, who tortures poor Vladimir for more information. Oh, and of course after that he kills him. Teh end. /o\
