I have a question for everyone here and I want to start by saying I mean no disrespect to anyone. c_regalis if you find my words offensive I will not blame you at all for deleting my comment. This is your journal, after all and I myself questioned Leo Chiang's motive when he first posted about Callum. I've come to think differently lately.

Why is everyone so quick to badmouth this guy? I don't know him from Adam and I'm guessing nobody else here does either. He's never done anything to harm anyone here yet he's somehow The Bad Guy for suggesting that just maybe Callum would be interested in doing a convention. Everyone has their opinion on whether or not Callum would or wouldn't, but the way I see it...getting to meet Callum face to face for even just 30 seconds to shake his hand and thank him for all the happiness he's brought into my life...if that happens because Leo Chiang got the ball rolling, I'm going to send him flowers. Sweet Rugged Man!flowers.

And would Callum at a convention be such A Bad Thing? I need some enlightenment here. *g

Everything is JMHO and all that. For me, it's the tone of his posts, which admittedly is a tricky thing to go by. It's not something I can point a finger at and say "that, right there. that's why." He may be the nicest sweetest guy in the world but reading his posts (not just the ones that mention Callum) the impression he leaves with me is that he is full of himself. I'm fully aware that impression may be the exact opposite of what he's really like but all I have to go by is his blog.

If it was Chiang that got the con-thing going, I'll chip in with you on the flowers. *g*

Certainly not. It's just so unexpected from everything we think we know about him and his personality. If Callum ever does decide to do a con, I hope and pray that it will be a very positive experience for him so he would consider doing more.

I get you. Maybe Chiang's intentions are good he just doesn't quite know how to communicate them and is rough around the edges. And yeah, I still check his blog daily so who's the moron now?
