Greetings. I am new to this community and have only recently discovered Wilby Wonderful and am falling in love with Callum Keith Rennie despite being aware of him for years. All of a sudden, Duck McDonald is causing me to rethink everything I ever thought of RayK and Leoben

I agree that Dan and Duck met at the Watch, and that he's more concerned about Dan getting outed than himself. That could be because he wasn't at the Watch that night, and/or he's at a point in his life where he's at peace with himself whether or not he's outed.

From Big Tender Hearts: ...Duck is a gay man living in a small town who is at peace and comfortable in his own skin. But as MacIvor sees it, "he’s only really come to peace after having come through the war. Duck has definitely been in some dark places.

What Buddy knows and doesn't know is harder for me to figure out. At times he's self-absorbed, distracted by Sandra, and he seems to be going through the motions of his life. Sandra interrupted their talk, but I think Duck realized that Buddy just wasn't capable of helping him at that point. It doesn't feel that Buddy doesn't really snaps out it until he finds out about the Mayor's plan for the Watch (and presumably Dan's suicide attempt).
