Because trust me, if a woman is sold on the idea that something / anything is absolutely beneficial to her (and what's important to her), she'll open her own doors to get to that thing.

amen to that, sister. affirmative action can only take women so far. after that it's all moaning and groaning of the not sexy kind.

borrowing your metaphor. opening doors and holding them so other women can come in from the cold can become tiresome when grown women fidget too long. but worst are the types who hug the foyer, preventing others from gaining entry.

do i know gaya, gaya, and jaya? congratulate them for me. ditto natasha. i was just reading a summary of her presentation on Base Box in the camp's wiki yesterday. one of these days, i may just write about my up close and personal encounter with FOSS boys in a FOSS project.

gaya, gaya and jaya are entirely new to me. one gaya is from CREA in delhi (the apcwomen are working with crea on their films of desire website), the other gaya is from malaysia (and she helped lots with getting malaysian bloggers on the take back the tech campaign -- which i only found out when i met her here), and jaya is a man working on the OLPC project (the 100 dollar laptop project).

lookinf forward to your rambling on working with FOSS boys in a FOSS project!
