Hey there C5,

Gee.. you nailed all the "fear factor" kinda thing for taking cabs in a huge city like Manila. I happen to live in Jakarta (Indonesia), but I always try to be home at 10 PM, only for security reasons. The recent gasoline price hike has seen increased rate of robbery in a taxi (I'm skipping the nasty part).

I find your tips of "fake names" and "hotels" very useful. I also do the "SMS me when you get there/home" to friends, be that male/female especially after 10 PM.
