Pro-Dissonance

So, I haven't been able to shake this industrial phase I'm currently stuck in.  Not that I want to anyways, I just find it odd it's lasted as long as it has.  I blame Cyanotic.  I haven't been this excited about an industrial group in years.

The video is not the best but the song kicks ass.  I used it in the set I played at OS.

looked up FLW on a map. middle. of. nowhere. i'd say it's going to be impossible to find cool weirdos out there, but you'll probably meet a whole bunch cos not all the cool weirdos have migrated to the cities yet. :)

LOL!!! Yeah, FLW is also called Ft. Lost-in-the-Woods for a good reason...

I figure my best bet for meeting interesting people will be those in the St. Louis area which is about two hours east. I've never been afraid to drive so in the event a good show comes up I'm confident I can figure it out once I know where to go in St. Louis. We're also a seven hour road trip from Chicago and I know there's an incredible scene there. Hell, Cyanotic is from Chi-town.

We'll see. I would have never guessed upstate NY would have had the amazing scene it did but we pretty much tapped into that within the first year of living there. Once I know where my follow on assignment will take me we'll get to start the process all over again. But it keeps things interesting.

BTW, I've been digging the hell out of the tunes you gave me. Secrets of the Moon and DTB have been faves so far and I'm still working through everything else, slowly but surely.

yeah, i couldn't tell how far st louis was from FLW. if i went by texas map standards, it'd be about 4-5 hours away. 2 hours is not bad. i'm curious to know what the goth/metal/industrial/alterno scene is like out there. STL is the home of anita blake, after all. :)

that's awesome that you're digging that stuff. i doubt SOTM will ever tour the heartland, but if they do, catch them at all costs. their last tour here was pretty stripped down, but the performance was very powerful nonetheless. their drummer is doing drums for jvstin's next album. mark-the-elf is a huge devin townsend fan and turned me on to DTB. deadhead is by far my favorite song on that album.

Deadhead is a great song. I don't think I ever got to meet Mark-the-Elf, but I've actually been a Hevy Devy fan since his Steve Vai Sex and Religion days. Hevy Devy also did guitars for FLA on their Millenium and Hardwired albums. Good stuffs...

That's awesome that SOTM's drummer is going to do drums on the next CovM album. Are they from Houston?

Manna mentioned that Laurell K. Hamilton lives in STL. I don't know if you were ever a fan of Gravity Kills but those guys were from STL as well. I'm hoping with Chicago so close there's a industrial music corridor that parallels I-55.
