=======================================

It was less than four hours before Satoshi’s scheduled departure from this life so Jun decided to show up.

“I’m going to miss you,” Jun suddenly appeared in Satoshi’s office.

Satoshi looked up. “I wish I can say the same but I’ve just seen you three days ago.”

For someone who is about to die, he was oddly calm.

“Will you be around when I die?” Satoshi asked.

“I definitely will. You may not see me, but I’ll be just at an arm’s length to make sure you’re safe.”

“I’ll be there too,” Nino suddenly showed up. “I will hold your hand and keep you comfortable on your last moments so you don’t have to worry.”

“Good.” Satoshi smiled. “I have already written my good-bye letters to people. I even wrote a letter to my murderer to tell him how disappointed I am that he will murder me. I still wrote something to thank him, though.”

Nino just scratched his head in confusion.

Satoshi laughed at Nino. “Yes, I can be weird at times. Anyway, all is set. I have my last will rewritten last night. I wrote a set of instructions for Sho on how to manage the local hotel as well as the subsidiaries. It will be given to him by my lawyer after reading the last will and testament. And I already sent a message to my lawyer to distribute these thank you letters a day after I die. The wake and funeral arrangement details were also sent to my lawyer.”

“I have finally come to terms with death and betrayal,” He sighed.

“What if…?” Jun hesitated.

Nino and Satoshi looked at him.

“What if we delay Satoshi’s life? I mean, you already have your suspects, right? Maybe we can make a plan so that the murderer will die instead of you. Bad people are suppose to be punished, right?” Jun suggested.

Nino frowned. “Hold on. Hold on!!!” He swallowed hard. “While I like the idea of Satoshi having a longer life, it would mean that I will be fired.”

“I can push for a recommendation for you as a guardian angel. You will lose your job to save a life. That should be good enough for you to be accepted,” Jun offered. “Plus, you’ll be free from this oversized coat and missing fedora.”

Nino’s eyes lit up. “That.. That’s a good idea.”

Jun and Nino looked at Satoshi. “So, who do you think will kill you?”

Satoshi swallowed hard. “Sho-chan and Reiji Samajima.”

Sho’s delayed flight was up in the sky and arrived at the Narita Airport two hours after. He went straight to Masaki’s apartment since it’s his rest day.

“Welcome back, Sho-chan!” Aiba opened his door and let Sho in.

“I headed straight here because I can’t wait to give you this,” he handed Masaki a box.

“An engagement ring?” Masaki was wide eyed.

“Silly!” Sho playfully punched Masaki’s arm.

Masaki opened the box and his eyes glistened at the sight of a new Swiss knife.

“Will you marry me, Sho-chan?”

“In your dreams, Masaki-chan,”

“Just one kiss, Sho-chan?”

“Do you want me to punch you?”

“Whoa… How violent.” Masaki whistled low.

“That gullible huh?” Sho teased.

“Your meeting in Singpore was just for one day. How come you had to come back after three days? What did you do there?” Masaki gave a doubtful look.

Sho suddenly coughed.

“I…I had to look for your Swiss knife,” Sho cleared his throat.

“For three days? You could have just looked it up in the internet with your good research skills.” Masaki raised an eyebrow.

“And I had to go to Universal Studios to buy Satoshi-chan’s souvenir cup. The entrance ticket was expensive so I had to get on the rides! Then, I rested the next day at the beach in Sentosa to scout for a possible new hotel there.”

He took something from his pocket. “Here, a Universal Studios key chain.”

“Now THAT’s what I’ve been hinting at.”

They talked for about an hour and Sho received an SMS. Get ready, it said.

“Sorry, I have to go. I have something important to do. See you around,” Sho said.

“Me too,” Masaki said and took the new Swiss knife on the way out.

Toma and Reiji just finished their early dinner.

“The food was great, Reiji. It feels like the good ol’ days.” Toma sipped some wine.

“You missed it, huh? Blame that Ohno for ruining our life.”

“How come I was the only one arrested and not you?”

“Sorry about that. But I did promise that you will get out of prison.”

“Yes, you did. But it took years, Reiji-san.”

“Will Ohno’s death make up for your lost years?”

“Of course, Reiji-san…” He took another sip of the wine. “Of course.”

“Then, it’s payback time,” Reiji told Toma.
