I've been laughing over the "Almost Paradise" song for the entire 11-episode run of BoF, but it wasn't until last night I started to feel severely annoyed with the others. I haven't been happy over the minutes the show wastes with the song montages, but this was the first time I felt real hate ( Read more... )

Sadly, almost ALL Asian dramas have most atrocious music of ever. The good soundtracks are v. rare: "Beautiful days", "A love to kill", , nothing japanese comes to mind. But not many are as bad as BOF.

I've noticed the aggravation creeping in on journals but last night, when the SAME SONGS came on AGAIN during 2 scenes of NOTHING HAPPENING, I wanted to hit something. I used to find "Stand by Me" and "Lucky" kind of catchy, but they lit some hate under me.

I think the weirdest thing is how the songs pick up whole musical phrases from others. "Stand By Me" inevitably morphs into Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up." Two of the instrumentals during Mars forced "Bridge over Troubled Waters" and "Through the Eyes of Love" (theme song for an old movie called Ice Castles) to run constantly through my head.

I didn't have this much problem in anime. In fact, the soundtrack for Noir is pretty awesome, I listened to it a lot about 5 years ago.

I am the same with Anime - "Vampire Knight" has wonderful music, so does "Trinity blood", "Bleach" has some really good songs and some less so good. Strange.

Seriously, my obsession with all things BoF and Lee Min Ho grew exponentially within the past 36 hours. I not only downloaded the soundtrack, I PUT IT ON MY MP3 PLAYER FOR MY DART MATCH. YES, I BOPPED AROUND TO A KOREAN BOYBAND WHILE SHOOTING DARTS.

I'm to the point I can't stand the song when it comes on during the show, since it's every episode, but it's pretty fun out of context.

Ha, same! I like the OST, just not when it's terribly misused in the drama.
