Today's imdb news provides much bzoppa-celebrity fodder.

When I first saw the title Lohan Refused a Drink at Los Angeles Hotspot, I thought, good for her! She was offered a drink, and she said no.

Then I read further, and it's just too THAT SUCKS for me to not quote in full:Lindsay Lohan's aides are going out of their way to make sure the actress/ ( Read more... )

Someone who's had that much trouble controlling her own behavior...I guess what I want to know is WHY ARE THEY LETTING HER GO TO BARS at all? I'm not even that big a drunk and it's hard for me to sit around in bars with people who are drinking and not drink. Someone needs to fly her out to BFE and force her to live with straight-edge farmers for several months or something. I feel sorry for her. Maybe I shouldn't. I dunno.

Seeing as this is hidden in comments, I feel a bit freer to be candid.

She definitely needs to find new friends, and new places to go if she's going to try and order alcohol two months after getting out of rehab. She can't handle it. I don't know if I could either. I managed for a month, and now I'm back drinking. It's not taking as much control over my life... but it's definitely a demon.

I have only seen one case where someone managed to quit and stay quit. Years ago, he used to get so trashed they'd have to sit him on a bar stool so he could throw his dart straight at the board. About 3 years ago he quit drinking completely-and he still shoots darts. I see him out, by himself shooting, and he drinks soda water or cranberry juice. He is 100% not drinking ( ... )

Yeah, it's shitty. Like I said, I've been lucky enough to not end up with a drinking problem (truly amazing considering my genetic legacy--90% of my family are drunks) but even as a social drinker it's hard to be in that situation and not drink--I can't imagine how difficult it would be if you were working with an addiction, too. And anyone who's done any 12stepping at all knows that you don't usually keep your old friends when you ditch your addiction. :/

I hope you don't have to choose. :( Too bad there aren't any "family oriented" dart places. Sounds like something they should add to the "family" bowling alley in our town.
