Hello from Australia! I'm on the opposite side of the planet to normal, which is a little tricky for modding Dialj, but that's okay. *g*
The thing is... I've had my yearly notification that my Extra Userpics package is about to expire (my paid lj is due to expire in January). I wrote in as I've had to do for the past few years, and said that much

Hi, I have the same problem, as LJ informed me in September that they cannot guarantee that they will be able to renew paid services as a gift again in the future. So I've prepared myself that the paid package will be gone in January and opened a free account on Twitter (1000 pictures free) and moved all my images that exceed 1 GB on LJ to Flickr and just post on LJ using the Flickr source. As to the user pics, I never had so many, so no changes in my case.
I hope I could help with this information. :-)

I've got other social media accounts, but not really for Pros, because people are still mostly here. And there's nowhere else that could host Discoveredinalj the same way either, so that will have to end too. I'll never join Twitter though - I refuse to support that unpleasant man in any way. I didn't know Flickr was still going - I used to have an account there! I guess I'll have to see what happens!

I had the same problem two weeks ago and wrote to them to say I would love to pay but can't. They told me that they couldn't say what they would do in the future and that I should use the app yoomoney, but I can't because it is blocked in Germany. But I have all the user-pics I had before and my LJ account expires in March so I will see what will happen then. Maybe this crazy war will stop and everything will go back to normal. (wishful thinking) I think I should shift all my images onto another side but some are NSFW so Flickr could cause problems.

I mean, there's a really specific reason we can't make payments to a Russian company right now, and absolutely nothing we can do about it, so I hope they let it slide... Although I'm kind of surprised they feel there's enough of an English-speaking lj-base still to support at all...
