I did wonder about the big white bottoms. Surely something of a target. But it must have held some purpose before men arrived.
Doesn't it just irritate you no end? People just can't seem to get the point that staying home is to keep you safe, yet so many flaunt the rules. It's even worse when it's for something so frivolous as a craft class.
But it must have held some purpose before men arrived. And women...! People! Before people arrived! *g*
I couldn't believe that Madam was getting away with running these classes. She's making a bit deal about it being all about mental health during lockdown - but in that case why can't other people do the mental-health things that they like doing? Going to the pub to meet their friends, having their grandchildren over at the weekend, going to book club or metal detecting club or whatever it might be? She's found an excuse to what she wants to do... I find it even more frustrating in this case because when she opened her space she kept claiming that it was "for the community" and "for the village", and so on. What she's written on her door says it all though - "Money can't buy happiness, but it can support local business and that's almost the same thing". For you it is! For other people happiness is not risking the lives of their grandparents or parents, or friends or family! And has she ever taken part in any volunteer community

No, I get it. I'm constantly bi**hing about one thing or another when it comes to people following the rules. Problem is, at least here, they're not actually rules. More like suggestions that people can disregard if they feel like it. Even the one thing that is a rule, wearing a mask in public, is often disregarded, or, almost as bad, they wear their mask on their chin! I don't know, I think the only thing that's going to save us is them getting the vaccines out...fast!
I've seen people use that as an excuse over here too - "they're only guidelines". In theory they're mostly backed up by the threat of a big fine, but if someone's been told by some individual in power (who perhaps also doesn't really believe in lives rather than money) then they've got that as an excuse...
I've seen people doing that with masks over here too - if you're not going to wear it properly in a shop, then why bother hanging it off your ear in the first place?! I get not wearing it outside - as long as people are at a decent distance I take my mask off outside (though not if they're just barging their way up the street and not bothing - no, I continue to protect them by wearing my mask... grrr

Working backwards said the actress... is it my imagination or has the deer got a love heart shaped marking on its backside? Or am I the product of too many slash stories? And that is one fabulous tree in the bottom picture! Is it an Oak tree? (Said the person who's lived in England more than half a century.) (I don't do nature as you might have realised.)
If it's your imagination then it's my imagination too!
And hmmn - I don't think that is an oak tree, but I'm awful. Unless I look specifically for some reason, I just think gorgeous tree and carry on my merry way, gazing happily at it when I see it. Next time I go past I'll check for evidence! *g*
I'm just... staggered by the number of people who are finding ways to twist things so that they can carry on as normal. I know we all need money, but surely we all need to help keep each other alive too... and a craft class for posh white women (let's be honest) is not "formal education or formal training" as defined in the government rules...
I'm trying not to rant again, because I just did in my reply up above, but... yes, so frustrating! This woman in particular is frustrating because she claims to be all about the community, but the only community-minded thing she's ever done is.... actually nope, I can't think of one! She does have the village Christmas tree plugged into her electricity, but the more I see her and what she does, the more I think she's probably paid to do it by the council... *sighs*
I was trying to work out what plant might look purple, because there's definitely no heather around here - I think it might be the hedges that have a purple tinge to them in the photos? It's just the light and the winter-bareness of them, I think.
I still can't believe those deer have survived all these hundreds of years with love-heart white bottoms bobbing up and down whenever they run! To be fair, when I was trying to work out what kind of deer it was, none of the pics seems to have such pure white distinctive rumps as these chaps! *g*
Oh please, rant away as much as you like :) I totally agree with you about selfish people disregarding 'guidelines' and trying to get away with it... Beautiful photos!

And how wonderful to live a distance from it all!
