Yay rain! We had some, too! And nice cool weather, in fact, socks and coat temperatures. Which is quite easy staying outside all day but lovely anyway.
Enjoy your stay in London!
PS: emails don't get posted, for whatever reason, sorry.
We had storm and a little rain and it is cooler now than it was in weeks. I think next week we will have more rain and we need it. And I love the clouds over the London skyline. :-)
The clouds over the London looked fab - and in fact those are over the British Library, which makes me extra happy. *g* There was a nice sunset too... *g* Happy rain! (I think it's going to warm up again here - but I'll be off to Australia where it's just a little cooler in winter, so that's fine by me... *g*)
Oh, welcome back to a spot of cloud and rain :-s (almost welcome after being a bit baked lately, but I'm missing the sun already tbh!). Always love to read about your wanderings! Will you be in the UK for a while now ... ?
I'm in the UK until Tuesday, hanging around a London YHA, and then I fly off, Perth-bound - happily for me just before the hotter weather comes in again... *g* Then back to the UK in November.
Next is Perth, Australia on Tuesday (well, Wednesday when I get there). I've never been before, and I thought I'd have a go at the non-stop Australia flight they've started. Though I've then got to get another flight to Melbourne, but I've got six days in Perth before that.
I think it's supposed to warm up here again - although just as I leave again, which is nice for me... *g* Lots of rain forecast in between, though...
I think I know that YHA! I loved Perth (and its nearby beaches, such as City Beach or Cottesloe Beach) last time I was there (Feb. 2009), though it was summer... :) Have a great time in Australia!
And ooh, any recommendations for Perth would be fab! So those two beaches.... I'm thinking of hiring a car cos I fancy going down to Jewel Caves, but is there lots of fab city stuff to do without one...?
Oh yes you'd need a car in order to explore better the area north of Perth. If I remember correctly, I could use public transport (from the central coach station in Perth) to go as far as Fremantle, City Beach (for this one also a standard bus was available, vs a coach), Cottesloe and Scarborough (which also has great coastline). But I don't remember being able to go further north, e.g. to North Beach or Sorrento, with public transport.
I also went on a 5-day coach tour once, out of Perth, to visit as far as Shell Beach and Coral Bay (both magnificent). The drive was quite long, and I preferred an organized tour because didn't fancy driving on my own on those isolated (and sometimes without mobile reception) highways. But the other side of the medal was, naturally, I wasn't free to stay and go in one place as long as I wanted... :) In Perth don't miss the Botanic Gardens. Not only are they beautiful but they are in a panoramic, hilly location with great views!
