Good morning! Today so far has been a castle, a lake, a pooka (I swear - it was right at the roadworks that took ages, and I couldn't take a photo of it!) and now the Dingle Peninsula and the Wild Atlantic Way. Lovely... *g*

It was indeed a fab castle etc. - yeay travelling!
A pooka is an old Irish spirit that often takes the guise of an animal, particularly one of those sharp-horned, bearded, shaggy-furred goats, like the one I saw but couldn't take a photo of! They're ancient beings that are neither good nor bad, but often seem malevolent since they're not working to the whims of humans. Oh, and they can be mischievous. This one struck me as definitely mischievous! *g*
I enjoyed the Ring of Kerry... Valencia Lighthouse, Kenmare Stone Circle, and we hiked down to some dinosaur prints, among a ton of other things. It's very beautiful. And it was raining and flooded when we were there. :) We wanted to so to Skelleg Michael but the seas were so rough that boats were not going out the day we were there. Too bad because they were filming the Star Wars movie that week! We skipped the Blarney experience.
The castle was fab - I wish I'd been able to stay until it opened, and look inside, and to go and visit Muckross House down the road, too... You should come next time, we'll do a Pros-based Irish road trip! *g*

And wow for filming Star Wars too - I saw a sign saying "Home of Star Wars" on the Dingle peninsular, and wondered... *g*
Blarney was fun, and I'm glad I went - especially for the gardens - but kissing the stone was definitely an experience!
