The path was lovely - it's a beautiful time around here for country paths, a froth of cow parsley and then blues and pinks and yellows, all among the cool green. And thank you! *g*
My week's started well - lovely day with little A., and R. was on pretty good behaviour too, so yeay!
Oh bummer! What a complete arse, having to work on your birthday, let alone a Big Birthday. Tell the kids, wind 'em up with lots of cake and silly fun things, then hand 'em back at the end of the day with a great big birthday smile *g*
The piccies are gorgeous - ta ever so. I needed reminding of how pretty everything is right now; it's teeing down here and the weeds are waving happily. Grrrr!
I spoke too soon perhaps too - went into work today to find that wee A had another snotty-nosed cold. I'm just hoping my we defence system has perked up a bit since last time, cos you just know that it'll all come out (so to speak...) on Friday if not. Gaaah!
And hee - for handing back winded-up kiddies! Might be easier than anything else - the weather forecast is now also fairly atrocious for Friday. Mind you, perhaps it's actually pretty suitable now that I come to think of it - lashing rain, glowering skies and thunder dooming down. Welcome to your next decade! *vbg*
And thank you! Spring is so pretty over here, you can't barely go wrong with a camera... *g*
That's a bugger and no mistake. You are indeed Absolutely Entitled to be miffed, disappointed and/or thoroughly pissed off, I reckon - it's bad enough having to work, but everything else conspiring - argh. Can you at least save yourself a treat to watch/read/eat/drink after you knock off that evening? {{{{{{{{allthehugs}}}}}}}}
Lol - and when I went into work today, wee A. had a snotty-nosed cold, which I'm almost bound to catch properly in time for Friday. Not to mention the weather forecast is now promising much doom and rainy gloom! There will definitely be treats of some kind that evening - I just have to figure out what! And thank you!
Oh noes!... I totally commiserate with you. I hope you'll make up for lack of celebration on the very day till a few days later and not be too tired on your actual birthday even if you've got to work longer hours. Sometimes things look worse on paper... you did well in mentioning it will be your birthday to your boss; maybe he'll make a little bit of an extra effort for your sake on that day? Making cake sounds like a wonderful idea ;) And I have a feeling your "Big Birthday" is the same as the one I'll have in October *g* I don't know what I'll do yet... 😊
Ooh, I wonder if we've got the same Big Birthday this year (something to do with half a century, maybe...? *g*) Hope you manage some lovely plans for yours - I can't believe that this is the first one for years that I'll be working! Usually I go on a jaunt somewhere... for years it was fannish-friends based, then just go-away-on-holiday based, and now... well, I guess it'll be next-day based! I'll have a peaceful night at home, maybe watch a favourite dvd, drink some wine... post a Pros discussion, perhaps, and hope there's someone out there! *g*
Oh yes, we were definitely born the same year! 😆 Me being in October usually means it's too late in the year to have my dream birthday party, which is having a cocktail+appetizers on a beach somewhere in the Med, with some lounge music in the background. Even in Italy, in mid-October it starts to feel quite chilly in the evenings on the beach, which means I'd have to advance the party to the summer but you're not supposed to celebrate a birthday *before* the actual birth-day, are you? So maybe I'll postpone it till summer the following year! *g*
We'll see... In Oct. I can always take a trip somewhere I've always fancied to go...
I really hope you'll have a nice birthday, well, birthday evening, and make up for it with some proper celebrations in the following days or weeks :)
Oh dear! How horrid to have to work an extra long day on your Significant Birthday. :-( I definitely think you should make a cake with A and R, or at least cup cakes, and then raid the pantry for all the sparkles, sprinkles, dragees and frosting you can find, and have a field day with them. If you're going to have to work on your Significant birthday, you might as well have fun. :-) More bluebells! Yay! I also very much like the green leaves photos, and the one with the large tree trunks, and the field of sheep. I miss the fields of sheep in Wiltshire. There seem to be no sheep in Bavaria. I reciprocate with a photo of my tulips. It was taken yesterday.

Lol - those cupcakes covered in shiny things sound like R's idea of heaven! I'm not sure quite how it would go baking a cake with both girls - but they'd both love it, it's true...!
Beautiful tulips - and that sunshine! *g* At least they won't be eaten by sheep... *g*
