Life in the... well, up the lane

I have been awol girl (and I owe replies and comments and emails), but I have been awol in quite pretty surroundings - on Saturday I actually headed northwards to spend a day with cousins and aunts and uncles, passing fields of yellow and spreads of daisies, and other bits of rather pictureskew countryside on the way...

Fingers crossed for the dental stuff - I know what you mean, and I've always felt that dental treatment in the UK (or at least, dental health) has suffered from the fact that it is excluded from the whole free-at-the-point-of-access NHS setup even when it's an NHS dentist (at least there's still an exception for kids!). I'm absolutely appalled by what the tories have already done (and NuLab fucked up an important bit too with all that PFI bollocks, although the funding was miles better even under them) and as for what the tories are going to do if they get the chance, it's frightening.
Well more power to your writing elbow, at least! *g* I hope that works to shake the gears free and get you back in writing mode :-)))

Simply gorgeous photos, as usual. I remember being completely taken by the fields of yellow rapeseed my first visit over.

And aren't family reunions just lovely? It's always interesting to catch up on what everyone is doing.

Yeah, you all should be very careful what you ask for, because you may get it. Over here, they're still trying to screw with what health insurance people have, especially the poor. And very carefully going over everything in your health insurance, asking lots of questions, and making sure that something is covered, at the place you're having it done, has become second nature. I've been very lucky in always having a "cadillac" policy, since it's through my employer who was. But I'm very concerned about having to switch to Medicare next year.

Lovely pictures, although I do not like that yellow stuff - unless it's far away and the wind's blowing in the opposite direction.

As for the Election - I have so little faith in any of them now.

Lovely piccies! And your family reunion sounds wonderful fun.

I hope you sort out your dental problems - I'm a great believer in leaving teeth alone! As soon as somebody starts poking about, I'm convinced my teeth will take umbrage and play up. I'm stuffed as far as NHS dentists are concerned here - I was forced to go private some years ago, and although in theory I could probably get an NHS one now, the standard is so awful I don't want to risk it. Good innit? *g*

As far as elections go, I've got my fingers firmly in my ears and I'm humming.

Booo for the troublesome teething things. So nice of that Mrs May to call a general election to take your mind off it all, eh? And there was me thinking she'd be too busy thrashing out the whole Brexit deal to be side-tracked, but apparently not. I tell you, the whole world seems to be rapidly going to Hell in a hand basket... I'm rather hoping that some nice German couple will take pity on us and adopt OH and me. We are prepared to pay (although the way the Euro and pound are going these days, our life savings will probably amount to about twelve pounds and thruppence ha'penny.)

Still, on a cheerier note, that third pic of yours looks really inviting. :-)
