I swear I only just got up this morning... but I also remember rushing off to go and do a conservation stint at Stourhead, where I spent the morning covered in dust, but perfectly happy helping to give the Pantheon a deep clean... And I promised pics if I could, so

Thank you! *g* I feel so much better now that I have a proper camera again - my phone camera did a fab job, but I still felt I was missing something...

You should be practicing with your new SLR, definitely - and posting the pics to lj so that we can see, too... *g* There should be more pics on lj, I reckon - it's nice to see where people are! And ooh, is that a planned holiday? How exciting - amazing pics, surely... *g*

Ooh what did you clean your 1700s benches with? Is there special stuff or do you just squirt on a bit of Pledge and rub it with a J-cloth? *g*

The moon photo is spectacular. I think we should have a pic of your new camera though, as well! And blah and gah that I downgraded my moon icons - they were superseded by boys, or flowers, or I don't know what :)

Pledge? Pledge! *has conniptions* Eeeeeh! Oh, you... No special stuff for regular cleans - very soft brushes, that's all... Getting them damp isn't good for them, so not even water... and cloths might rub off the paint or varnish or surface, hence soft brushes... *g*

I shall see what I can do about a photo of my camera - very meta... *g* Rats for missing moon icons - I love my moon icons... I don't use them often enough... or any of my icons... I should use all my icons more... and you should too, cos I love your stairs... *g*

I love the detail in the bench, not only the painting but the carving too. Amazing to think it's survived all this time.

The benches were fab - four of them, matching. It really is impressive that they're still around, especially since they effectively live in a shed! A fancy shed with a dome and all, granted, but still - no heating in winter, dusty and damp too...

New camera's doing pretty well so far. I have to sort out my image size (currently too big even for me - though I liked being able to blow up just a few dew drops on a spider's web this morning, until you can see the view reflected in them!), and focus points and all, but... yeah. *g* Happy with New Camera so far! *g*
