Today's NASA apod (definitely worth looking at full-screen).

And here's Erik Wernquist who put it together...

It makes me want to re-read The Cook and the Warehouseman, and Echo, and all the other Pros science fiction stories, and get started on the Science Fiction reading challenge (which I'm not doing until January, despite the fact that I ( Read more... )

Hello - I've not seen you around for ages, I was wondering how everything was! Hope it's all good.

I'm too busy to breathe at the moment, but not on anything exciting - I'm way behind in work, I'm off to the other side of the country next Tues-Thurs for a hospital appointment (okay, two *g*) and I'm behind in wrapping presents which I'm desperately trying to do now so that I can get them sent to Australia tomorrow. On top of all that, I have writing I need to do for Dialj deadlines, and reading I want to do just cos I miss reading enough! Bet you're sorry you asked now... *g* I will post again, one of these days...

Nah never sorry, ever. You certainly sound snowed under though [lol]. I'm just about to complete my latest and last load of course work for this year and then I'm off too - bound for cooler [?] climes down south. I don't think they get consistent internet service down there so I'm stock-piling every bit of Pros fiction I can find ; for those quiet afternoons when there is nothing to do but swat flies and count kangaroos [lol]. A quiet bludge is exactly what I need to finish the year on. Still flat hunting = so over it! Otherwise all good and hope it will be the same for you too. Will be probably out of contact for 10 days from the 19th. Will check in before then. ...Kiashi

I have returned from 5 days of hell; with a menacing midget [aged 7] and I kept wondering/wishing Bodie and Doyle were there to sort the little turd out = I am grateful to be home at long last. I see you've been busy writing = lovely Xmas present for me [the only one I'll get this year] so thank you. I hope you are well and wishing you Merry Christmas and good tidings to you and yours...Kiashi

Oh no! I thought you were staying longer than that - it's nice to have you back, even if we do have a hellish child to thank for it!

Happy Christmas to you too - it's nice to be peaceful in our own places, if nothing else! I've only got one present under the tree myself this year, cos my family aren't very good at that (they used to be, but my brother's got his own family, and my mum's forgetful about things like that now if someone else doesn't get her organised), but I'm going to write and write and write and that will be a Christmas present too! Mind you, I'm also on Skype later tonight, my Christmas eve, their Christmas morning. Hope you have a lovely day, whatever you do!
