New Pros Vid - All Together Now by Hisluvpet

Jul 02, 2009 21:42

I am immersing myself in Pros today (in between work and marking and watching the first half of the Due South pilot just for the sight of snoooooooow).

I started off by re-reading some Brenda K who is fab...

...and now I've finished by watching the new Pros Vid from hisluvpet (Bistokidsfan, of my favourite Daring the Sea and Careful Cultivation) - All Read more... )

Due South?!?!? oooh, my other/former passion! Do you already know the whole series well, or are you just dipping in? (I might not see any answer until tomorrow sometime as I'm about to collapse, so please don't mind if you do say anything and I don't answer you back). Did I ever ask you about dS before? Mind like a sieve, me. But have many very fond recollections of the fandom and some outstanding writers.
Have a happy vid-and-fic-filled evening!

I didn't know you were a Due South-er! *g* I don't think you did ask me - but I'm afraid there's nothing to ask really, so...

I fell in love with it when it was first broadcast over here, but I only got to see the first season properly, and some of the second I think, and then I think I went travelling or something... I've wanted to see it all for ages, and someone lovely gave me a copy of series 1, and loaned me the other two - which I had to give back before watching in the end - *headdesk* I don't think I'll end up fannish about it, but I rather suspect I'll thoroughly enjoy it... *g*

I think I'm going to watch some more tonight... if I can bring myself to mark 14 questions about Roosevelt's New Deal for America first... *sigh*

I've only got season 3 - the rest is a pretty dim and distant memory (though it felt weird to see David Marciano turn up as a seriously slimy creep in The Shield!). This is the season where the original Ray Vecchio goes off undercover in Las Vegas and is replaced by Ray Kowalski who is in fact undercover as Ray Vecchio ..... *g* It really is very enjoyable - just so much fun, taking itself seriously in terms of quality but also having fun with lots of cinema and TV tropes. Hope you enjoy it as much as you expect!
I thought it was interesting that Paul Gross was apparently quite fanfic-friendly and slash-friendly in an abstract sort of way (and I was going to add something but I don't know if you want to avoid being spoiled!) If you should ever feel in the mood for a bit of fic, though, I can recommend some amazing authors. I was never really active in the fandom or anything, but I read around a bit ... *g*

Helloooo - I've just finished my marking quota for today, have put dinner in the oven, and yeay am looking forward to DS!

I definitely missed S3, because I remember being completely thrown when I came across DS fandom and they were talking about two Rays, so I'll be interested to see how that turns out in the eps! (And thank you for not spoiling me, although I know bits and pieces of the series by now, since it is a few years old now... *g*)

I'll let you know if I do fancy anything in the way of fanfic - we'll see! I'm not an automatic slasher, though, I've got to see it in the eps, and I really don't see it much outside of Pros... *g* Our lads are just so... *vbg*
