but Obama should have known better. Well by now almost everyone knows about his remark about putting lipstick on a pig and how it's still a pig. I don't think he was referring to Sarah Palin when he made the remark. However- he should have chosen his words more carefully ( Read more... )

It's a common expression which McCain himself used in 2007 and Dick Cheney used in 2004. NPR gave soundbytes of 2 or 3 other politicians using it as well. More republican absurdity.

Regardless of that (and yes- I heard that the expression has been used before)- I still think it was stupid of him to use it. Again- I don't think he meant it the way it came across- but in light of the fact that Palin made the remark about the difference of a soccer mom and a pit bull with lip stick and then Obama comes out with that remark...
well anyway- I can see why people are thinking he meant it as a slur against her.
Yes- I want Roosevelt again- "Teddy Roosevelt" - Even better- Ronald Reagan. There a president who wasn't afraid to do what needed to be done. But only one thing- they're both dead so.....(would be rather gruesome if they came back).

Yes. Reagan should definitely stay dead and buried.

I actually wore an "I LIKE IKE" pin today! He is the last republican I have any respect for. (The man's own granddaughter has gone democrat!)

My pin is for Franklin, but I suppose I'd wear Theodore's, if I had one. He was an environmentally minded man who set aside more land for the National Parks system than any other president until Bill Clinton took office.
