More fishing photos

Back when I was a commercial fisherman. More found and scanned photos.

The Oakland shipyards as we cruse the bay looking for herring on La Dolce Vita. Those cranes in the shipyard inspired George Lucas to build the "walker" machines in the Star Wars movies.

The big plus was the fishing captains were all those old crusty Italian dudes from Monterery, you know the ones. They were all in their 70s and still crazy as hell.
At night we would go out to the Italian bars by pier 41or whatever pier that was by the fisherman's wharf and close down the bars.

I'm pretty sure they were Fuji disposables, those throwaway cameras in the green and white Fuji film packaging. Scanning the prints really enhanced the saturation :D

I love these! I need to get some sort of strange job for awhile. Teaching English in Japan is pretty good, but maybe I should cut off fish heads in Alaska.
