Very interesting! I did not even know that the India govt would pay somebody to take care of the english cemetery. They should send the bill to the Queen :P

I wonder why you chose to use the phrase 'murdered' in the last sentence. I can understand why the british put it that way on the plaque.

Well during the seige there were a number of woman and children taken hostage and they were killed in the heat of negotiations or non-negotiations whichever you want to look at it. So in some respects they were murdered. That particular plaque was not people who fell in the battles.

noticed that some of the folks on the plaques had died later as well. Must have been a general cemetery as well.
Sorry about some of the civies who died.
Thanks for sharing this though. Didn't think India had any of these cemeteries still around. Why wouldn't the UK govt want to bring their people back home?
