Ginny grinned at Hermione as she pushed past a few people to reach her friend. "Hope you haven't been waiting too long. I haven't seen Diagon Alley this crowded in ages: took me forever to get here!" She took a step forward to give Hermione a quick hug. "How are you doing?"
Hermione grinned, "I'm good. I've just come from Hogwarts, I was helping Professor McGonagall."
Hermione and Ginny made their way through the crowded streets of Diagon Alley and headed towards Clytemnestra's Cafe.
"I could really use a cup of coffee," Hermione said as she pushed her way through a group of young boys staring in Quality Quidditch Supplies. "I've been up since dawn. I did a bit of revising this morning before I went to Hogwarts."
Ginny laughed and nudged Hermione who turned and pretended to glare at her friend.
"Just a little bit." Ginny tried to hide her amusement. "But it's a good thing, honest!"
When they reached the cafe, Ginny grabbed the handle of the door and pulled it open, holding it for Hermione. "If you stopped studying, people might think you were ill, or something."
"Yes, Ron wasn't surprised at all when I mentioned that I had started revising." Hermione said as she moved swiftly towards the counter. "You know it was odd really--he asked for my notes and bought his books."
Ginny arched her eyebrow and Hermione looked up at the menu.
"Hermione," The counter girl smiled. "Your ususal?"
Hermione nodded and Ginny giggled.
"Any way," Hermione smiled. "I want to hear all about you and Harry. Ron said that you and Harry seemed to be close."
"Ron's a prat." Ginny wrinkled her nose as she studied the menu. Trust her brother to gossip about her relationship with Harry before she could properly fill Hermione in on the details. "Close isn't exactly the word I'd use, but Harry and I are spending a lot of time together."
She smiled mysteriously as she gave the girl at the counter her order, then looked over at Hermione. "There may or may not have been kissing involved."
