Molly and Arthur hurried through the streets of Diagon Alley. The little specialty shoppe they had ordered Ginny's birthday gift from closed in less than ten minutes.
"Molly," Arthur panted as he tugged her along the sidewalk. "Did you remember to bring the receipt?"
"Of course I did," Molly struggled to keep up with Arthurs long legs. "You don't think she knows do you dear?"
Molly was constantly worried about Ginny discovering her presents. As a small child Ginny had been the one Fred and George sent in to hunt down the Christmas gifts and somehow she always managed to discover them.
"No dear," Arthur came to a halt, causing Molly to run into his back. "We're here."
Molly followed Arthur into the jewelers. She'd never really be interested in jewlery but there were several pieces that caught her eye. Her favorite was the mother's necklace that had small images of your children on it. Molly silently wondered if she could still consider Fred a part of a necklace like that and she shook her head to dispell the thought.
Arthur was speaking with the owner and Molly wandered around the shoppe casually glancing at the diamonds and when she came upon the wedding bands she smiled. Arthur had wanted to replace her simple diamond wedding band with a larger one on their anniversary last year. Molly wouldn't hear of it. She loved the ring that Arthur had bought for her and she wouldn't trade it for anything.
"Molly?"
Molly looked up from her musings to see Arthur walking towards her. He had a small box in his hand and he opened it up slowly to reveal the ring they had made for Ginny. It did Molly proud to see the diamond from her mother's engagment ring, a small saphire from Arthur's mother's ring, and a small piece of jade to round out the color.
"It's beautiful," Molly breathed. "Do you think she'll like it."
The ring had set them back a pretty penny but it's not every day your only daughter came of age. It was worth it.
"Yes, Mollywobbles," Arthur whispered into her ear. "I think she will."
Molly couldn't wait to give Ginny her present.
