Chapter 16

Frank and Gerard didn’t’ speak until they were curled up in Frank’s bed. Gerard had shut the curtains so that they were lying in semi darkness.

“You okay?” Gerard asked.

Frank nodded from where his head was resting on Gerard’s chest.

“I am now, thank-you.”

Gerard gently tugged on Frank’s hair, causing the boy to look up. His long fingers stroked Frank’s cheek, and he smiled as the small boy’s eye-lashes fluttered closed.

“I’m always going to be here for you.” He whispered, his lips brushing against Frank’s ear.

Frank hummed in pleasure, “Promise?”

Gerard nodded, “Promise.” He gently leant forward and pressed his lips against Frank’s. The small boy sighed in pleasure as he shifted closer to the Doll.
Gerard’s fingers buried themselves in Frank’s hair as their lips gently moved against each other. With a soft sigh, Gerard timidly swept his tongue across Frank’s bottom lip. With a sigh of satisfaction and a shift of his hips, Frank willingly submitted to Gerard. His mouth opened in acceptance,

Gerard moaned in satisfaction as his tongue slipped past the barrier of teeth to become surrounded in moist warmth. His tongue explored every crevice and dip of Frank’s mouth, committing it all to memory, before he beginning to gently massage Frank’s tongue with his own.
Twisting and twining together, Gerard relaxed into the wonderful feeling of being so close to his owner.

Neither boy was willing to come up for air, so intent on being as close as possible, but only breaking apart when it became necessary.
They leant their foreheads together as their breath raced to catch up with them.

“Woah,” Frank gasped.

Gerard laughed breathlessly, “You can say that again.”

Frank giggled, “Woah.”

Gerard laughed again, and pressed a soft kiss to the smaller boy’s lips.

They lay together like that for a few moments, both unwilling to move.

Gerard broke the silence first.

“I love you, you know?”

Frank’s eyes snapped open, excitement making them glitter in the dim light.

“I know, and I love you too,” he whispered.

Gerard smiled so much that his cheeks began to hurt. Pulling Frank closer he kissed him once again, leaving them both gasping for breath.
Kissing Frank’s lips, eyelids, cheeks and the tip of his nose, Gerard softly hummed a lullaby that caused the smaller boy’s eyes to flutter close, and his breath to even out as he gently slipped into sleep. His limbs tangled with Gerard’s, and his head resting over Gerard’s slow and steady heart beat, a small smile curling his lips.

Someone pounding on Frank’s bedroom door was the thing that woke them up; the sky had darkened outside, indicating that they had at least slept for a couple of hours.

“Frank,” his mother’s voice filtered through the door, “Frank, if you’re in there, you better come out right now, or I swear to god…” Her threat hung unfinished in the air.

Frank scrambled from the bed, causing Gerard to whimper as the smaller boy clambered over him to reach the door. Bright light hit Gerard square in the face as Frank pulled the door open. He groaned and rolled away. Frank’s mother glared at the Doll as he buried his head beneath the blankets.

“I see you’ve still got him,” she sneered.
Frank nodded.
“You’re not going to take him back?”
Frank scowled, “I’ve told you this already, Morrigan gave him to me, she knew who I was, she knew what I am, and there is no need for me to take him back.”

Linda glared at him, “You don’t think she’s made a mistake?”

Frank sighed and leant against the door frame. “No mum, she didn’t make a mistake, she doesn’t make mistakes.”

She pursed her lips and watched the sleeping Doll.
“Fine.”

Her eyes fell on Frank once again. “I’m leaving again.”
Frank straightened, “But you only just got back.”
“I know, but they need me in the New York office, if I can do this, if I get this right, I’ll get a promotion!” Her eyes danced in the dim light.

“Okay,” he paused, “Do you need me to do anything while you’re gone?”

She shook her head, “No, you’ll just have to go food shopping if you want something.”
Frank nodded again, “When do you leave?”
Her hair flew around her face as she flicked it over her shoulder.
“I leave tomorrow morning.”
She checked her watch and shot Frank an exasperated look.
“I have to go. I have dinner reservations with some friends.”

Frank sighed and leant back against the door frame.
“Okay, I’m guessing I won’t see you before you leave?”

Linda shook her head.
“No, I’ll leave some money on the kitchen bench,” She leant over and kissed Frank on the cheek, “Gotta go!” She turned and disappeared into her room.

Frank sighed and rubbed his hands over his face. ‘Surprise surprise’ he though, ‘she’s off again, on another of her business trips’.
He turned and slipped back into the room, closing the door behind him.

“Frank?” A small voice called from somewhere within the mountains of blankets. Frank walked over and dove under the doona coming face to face with a dishevelled Gerard.

“Yes Bumble-Bee?”
Gerard smiled slightly at the nick-name, “You okay?”
The smaller boy’s bright eyes seemed to dim at the question, “I’m fine Gee.”
Gerard’s eyebrow rose in response, “What did your mum need?”
Frank shifted closer, their legs coming together and entwining instinctively.
“She just wanted to tell me she has another business trip, and she’s leaving in the morning.”

Gerard nodded and brushed a lock of Frank’s hair behind his ear, “You don’t like her leaving all the time do you?”
The pale boy cupped his cheek as Frank shook his head, “No, not really, I mean, she’s been doing it for years, but it would just be nice to have her at home for at least a couple of days.”

Gerard nodded again and brushed the back of his hand against Frank’s cheek before leaning in to steal a slow languid kiss. Their tongues twining together, slowly and smoothly. Giving and receiving reassurance and love.
“You have me now Frankie,” Gerard said as he pulled back, “and I’m not going anywhere for a very long time.”
Frank smiled, “I know, thank you.” He leant forward and placed a chaste kiss on the Doll’s rosebud lips.

Gerard wrapped his arms around the smaller boy and drew him into his chest, “Let’s sleep now, I’m not exactly hungry, and it already seems late.” He trailed off, unsure.
Frank nodded against his chest.
“See you in the morning Frankie,” he whispered dropping a kiss into the boy’s hair. Frank sighed sleepily and burrowed closer into Gerard.
