As someone who posts sporadically, occasionally glosses over what's really going on with my personal life, and always misses birthdays, I feel qualified to say that the important thing about LJ is keeping in touch with good online friends you might otherwise lose touch with. We'll be happy for any bit of you we get- if you don't want to dwell, don't dwell. I will say, though, that the compassion and encouragement I get from my flisters is one of the bright spots of my life.

Love you, kid. Do what feels right for you. We won't mind.
