I decided to make this an icon/graphic journal. To view more of my artistic abilities (or lack thereof), you can go here to my graphics tumblr. I hope you enjoy :)
Oh God. The show jokes about molestation, prostitution, makes a homosexual prom queen but a teenage girl regrets giving up her daughter and, albeit misguidedly, tries to get her back? Let's start a petition and complain about it.
My hatred for Shelby is just--ungh. (Forgive the rant; basically, I'm agreeing with you that people are idiots.)
LOL, no need to forgive, testify! It's hilarious, because the people who can't stand Quinn seem to support Shelby, who basically has all of Quinn's negative characteristics with none of the positives. Like, Quinn's awful for wanting to be in Beth's life whether the adoptive parent likes it or not; but Shelby stepping all over what Rachel's fathers wanted and then walking out again is the sign of a wonderful parent?
My mother is adopted and she thinks this whole nonsense with Shelby is the worst thing ever portrayed. I mean, I'm sure it's a touchy subject for anyone, but my mom pointedly stated that she hopes Beth is sent back to Quinn's custody purely for the reasons you stated. When I bring it up in discussions, people tell me that it was OK to traumatize Rachel because she was just a surrogate.
I won't even go into the abomination of Shelby/Puck. I'm not saying it as a Quick shipper, I'm saying it as someone who is disgusted that it's OK for a teacher/student relationship and how some people don't understand that it can be harmful to Puck down the line. He falls for anyone who is nice to him. That says a lot about his self-esteem.
